Ice Bath / Cold Exposure

An ice bath is a form of cold exposure where the body is immersed in cold water for a short period. It’s commonly used for recovery, mental training, and nervous system regulation.

  2. Why do people do ice baths?

People explore ice baths for many reasons — mental resilience, recovery, clarity, and learning how to stay calm under stress.

  3. Do I need to be experienced to try ice baths?

No. Beginners should start gradually, focus on breathing, and prioritize safety. I often emphasize awareness over endurance.

About Me

  1. How often do I practice Bikram Yoga?

    6 times a week, 90 mins class. 5 times if I’m busy.

  2. How did I get started with Bikram Yoga?

I haven’t written a story on this before (haha!) and maybe I should, but this IG post here should give a brief summary?

  3. How long have I been practicing Bikram Yoga?

Since 2012. My first Bikram Yoga class was at Bikram Yoga City Hall. Read more here.

  4. How frequent do I go for ice bath / contrast therapy?

    3 to 4 times a week.

  5. What is my contrast therapy routine like?

It depends on how much time and capacity I have. With more time, I’ll do two rounds of contrast and finish in the magnesium hot pool. On busier days, just one round. I always listen to my body. Some days 3°C feels manageable; other days, 10°C is enough. The practice isn’t about pushing limits — it’s about awareness and responsiveness.

  6. Why did I start incorporating ice baths into my routine?

    My story here.
